Essay Two
Due Monday, October 30th
**Draft due in your conference**

For this four- to five-page essay, please consider one of the following texts as your primary text:

Benson Roe, MD, “Why We Should Legalize Drugs”
Ethan A. Nadelmann, “Commonsense Drug Policy”
Eric A. Voth, “America’s Longest ‘War’”

Please write either a rebuttal essay or a causal analysis essay – carefully following the guidelines in you Good Reasons book – in which you consider one of the above essays as your primary text. You can either agree or disagree with the author’s argument (the “agree” option will make more sense if you are choosing to do a causal analysis). In addition to the text you have chosen to use as your primary text, you will need to use two additional research sources. Following the criteria we discussed in class, you will need to locate peer-reviewed research sources to support your argument. You will need to introduce each source in full and quote from each at least twice.
